Pet Insurance

If you have pet insurance then we advise you to check your policy to see if behaviour work is covered before booking an appointment and if so you should be able to claim back most fees and some associated costs. Please call and ask for expert advice from Ben Mckechnie or Dean Hart.

Effective Behaviour Rehabilitation

Behaviour consultations are only delivered as a package to ensure we are able to support clients over several weeks and months. Given the complexities of most established behaviour problems we do not promote a 'quick fix' as often portrayed by inappropriate media. Setting realistic objectives and timescales is an essential part of a professional and supportive service and leads to effective behaviour rehabilitation.

'A vital component of pet behaviour counselling is the bond of trust between client and behaviourist. In our experience we know that simply talking about your pet's problems and sharing negative emotions with somebody you trust can help relieve emotional and physical distress'.

Additional Rehabilitation Sessions for

Full Behavioural Package

£80 an hour.

Where behavioural problems are very complex or have been happening for a number of years then additional sessions may be required.

For clients that have have been working with a CBT behaviourist additional sessions are available.

Sessions usually last around an hour can include additional notes or hand outs with suggestions and raining on appropriate additional equipment that may benefit the rehabilitation process.

Additional Rehabilitation Sessions for

Standard Behavioural Package

£90 an hour.

For clients that have initially opted for the Standard Behavioural Package they are able to book additional practical rehabilitation sessions based on their individual needs following the behaviourists report. Sessions typically last around an hour and often include valuable training to help owners cope with their pet's behavioural problems. These sessions are particularly valuable for those new to rehabilitation training.

Specialist Behavioural

Dog Grooming

£105 an hour. Fees cover the behaviourist and a specialist dog groomer.

As behavioural sessions, this grooming process can often be claimed through pet insurance policies - always worth checking first.

Many dogs have unfortunately experienced negative handling during the grooming process so develop reactive behaviours, often designed to protect themselves through aggression or learned helplessness (shutting down).  Some dogs have never been able to cope with grooming, perhaps a rescue or nervous dog from puppyhood. CBT Referrals works closely with a specialist dog groomer to provide a caring  and supportive behavioural service during the dog grooming process.  This includes a one hour behavioural consultation, initial handouts, practical grooming input with suggestions on appropriate equipment to use at home.

Train - the - Trainer

& Master Classes

£90 an hour

CBT Referrals can provide 1-2-1 or small group advanced training sessions to support dog trainers. We can provide individual assessments and practical advice to improve individual skills at all levels. These sessions are tailor made to the requirements of the individual and are often designed through consultation to meet specific needs. They are non competitive and provide opportunity for continuing professional development (CPD).

Expert Witness Service

£185 an hour plus expenses.

As part of our expert advisory and witness services we are able to offer a full report on the basis of the evidence as we understand it. We can provide independent assistance to the court and other parties by way of objective unbiased opinion in relation to matters within our expertise.

Whether you are a dog club, charity or other organisation we can provide off the shelf lively, fun, informative and professional training or seminars.
